Testimonial from James Cunning
I spent a wonderful month volunteering with GVI at the Jalova base in Tortuguero National Park in Costa Rica. During my time with GVI my project was mostly focused upon working with the sea turtles I did however also get the chance to take part in a number of interesting research work currently taking place within Jalova. For me the fact that the purpose of the why the information was gathered and why it was necessary made it quite an eye opening and allowed greater understanding of why this information is so important to the conservation efforts. The staff within the Jalova base were excellent and very friendly, they were easily approachable and very accommodating if volunteers were particularly interested in certain aspects of the conservation project. Overall it was an amazing eye opening experience and one that I would recommend to others looking to become involved in hand on conservation work of endangered and iconic species.
