Over 3,000 people volunteer overseas with GVI every year and we'd just like to thank each of them for keeping our projects sustainable and helping to ensure their long-term positive impact.
Our programs to volunteer overseas are run alongside and in collaboration with local partners and communities. In this way we make sure we are clearly aligned with the community's most urgent needs.
There are four different ways you can get involved, something for everyone!
- Choose from over 150 hands-on volunteer projects in amazing locations around the world. Durations start from 1 week and can run to over a year. Make an impact, experience new cultures and explore locations restricted to normal tourists.

- Under 18 but still want to volunteer overseas? Look no further! We have taken some incredible locations from all over the world and created specially designed projects for young adults, a perfect blend of volunteering, cultural immersion and adventure activities. Volunteers will have the leadership and training from our world-class field staff who have been chosen for their mix of experience in the field and ability to mentor and inspire young people.

- Join a GVI Challenge and embark on week-long adventures that might include hiking, biking, kayaking, white water rafting, even paragliding in amazing locations around the world. Over the course of a week you will undertake your chosen challenge that allows you to experience the highlights of your location, have some fun and even visit some of our projects for a day.
